Kiravo is an independent hosting company founded and run by Andrei and Elena Chira. We are personally involved in the daily operations, from refining the platform’s performance to communicating directly with our clients.

Evolution
Our story: a foundation built on expertise
Our history is not just a timeline; it’s the evolution of a philosophy. We started with a simple idea: to provide an honest, competent hosting service, the kind we wished we could have found for ourselves.
2007 – The beginnings
We started in August 2007, exploring multiple services and gaining practical experience: We created websites with WordPress and provided maintenance. As we learned WordPress, gained some experience and insights, we started offering audits and performance optimisations. This period gave us a unique, real-world perspective on the frustrations website owners face.
2012 – The launch of Simplenet
Working with many clients on generic, “one-size-fits-all” hosting platforms, we saw firsthand how much a poorly optimised host can hold a project back. We decided to build the solution ourselves. We launched Simplenet, our first specialised hosting brand, in Romania, our home market.
The first Simplenet servers were VPSs from Digital Ocean on which we manually installed and configured Nginx, PHP-FPM, MySQL and optimised the entire stack to squeeze every bit of performance. This became the foundation of our expertise.
2013 – An honest pricing promise
In 2013, we set our pricing model based on a core principle: Makoto (honesty). We decided our pricing would be simple, transparent, and predictable, with no “special offers” that double on renewal. It’s a promise we still keep: we offer the same pricing today as we did in 2013, even as the resources included in our plans have consistently grown with technology.
2014 – Community involvement
A key personal milestone was our first speaking engagement at WordCamp Romania. It was a chance to share our journey and connect with the incredible people in the local WordPress industry.

2016 – A philosophy of constant renewal
An early commitment we made was never to let our infrastructure become “stale.” Every 3-4 years, we reinvest significantly in new hardware, proactively migrating all clients to the latest, most powerful servers available (as we are doing right now by moving to AMD EPYC 5th Gen). This ensures our clients always benefit from cutting-edge technology at no additional cost.
2024 – Sharing
We continued to share our technical experience, with Andrei Chira once again participating as a speaker at WordCamp Romania with a detailed presentation on advanced WordPress performance optimisation.
The presentation was Mastering Website Performance: A Deep Dive into WordPress Optimization.
2025 – Expanding the vision
This year marked two important milestones. Our first official block theme was accepted into the WordPress.org repository.
At the same time, we decided to provide this specialised hosting service beyond our local market. We partnered with the best European cloud providers to build a platform that met our high performance and stability standards. That’s how we launched Kiravo, our international brand, to offer clients the same philosophy of honest, competent hosting worldwide.
While Simplenet remains our trusted name in Romania, Kiravo represents our commitment to offering this same focused, honest service to a global audience, built on over a decade of proven expertise.
